Summer Internship/Job Program

The Horace Mann School Summer Internship/Job Program is administered jointly by the Parents Association and the Alumni Development office and is offered to all Horace Mann graduating seniors and college-age graduates. It provides these students with the opportunity to apply for summer internships or jobs offered by parents, graduates, and friends of the school. Summer opportunities have been provided in many different fields including business, law, medicine, theatre, publishing, the fashion industry, public relations and marketing, and research. The positions may be paid or unpaid, depending on the type of opportunity and work required. The Alumni House does not guarantee that each student or graduate applying for a position will be placed in a job for the summer nor does it guarantee that each employer will be provided with a student to work the offered positions.

All Horace Mann parents and graduates are encouraged to list opportunities available in their places of work and to take advantage of the talents and skills our Horace Mann students offer. Employers who have participated in the program consistently remark on the positive contributions made by the Horace Mann students they hire and most re-list their jobs and internships each year. Likewise, the students who participate find their experiences to be extremely valuable, providing them the opportunity to try something new or confirm a possible career interest while still in college.

A note to rising sophomores and juniors in high school: this program is necessarily limited to graduating seniors and college-age graduates because the majority of employers are looking for older students and/or some opportunities require previous experience or college level work.
